Nandrolone Decanoate is an anabolic steroid derived from 19-nortestosterone, commonly used in the form of injections. It is worth noting that Nandrolone is a chemical precursor to 19-norandrosterone, a metabolite found in urine at low concentrations after intense physical activity or during pregnancy.

Structurally, Nandrolone differs from testosterone due to the absence of a carbon atom in the 19th position, which gives it progestin-like properties. As a result, Nandrolone exhibits significantly less androgenic effects compared to testosterone. However, its interaction with progesterone receptors can lead to unique side effects.

Unlike testosterone, which converts into dihydrotestosterone (DHT) through the enzyme 5-alpha reductase, Nandrolone undergoes conversion into dihydronandrolone, an extremely weak androgen. This makes it a suitable choice for male athletes with prostate issues.

Nandrolone has a relatively low probability of side effects. Its low androgenic activity means that adverse effects such as acne, baldness, and excessive body hair growth are rare. However, it’s important to note that like any steroid, these side effects may occur when recommended doses are significantly exceeded.

Compared to testosterone, Nandrolone has approximately six times less estrogen conversion (without aromatase). The highest conversion occurs in the liver, while the main conversion site, adipose tissue, remains less accessible to this process. As a result, Nandrolone has minimal estrogen-related side effects such as gynecomastia or fluid retention. Estrogenic activity is only observed at very high doses.

If hCG was not used during the cycle, it is advisable to take it at the end of the cycle before beginning post-cycle therapy (PCT).

Nandrolone decanoate injections are typically administered once a week. Given its 15-day activity period, there is no need for twice-weekly injections. However, if the weekly volume of injected drugs is significant, it can be divided into two or three injections. Combining Nandrolone with testosterone is recommended to avoid progestin effects and the consequences of low testosterone, such as low libido, weak erection, and depression.
